Our Journey: From CMS to Digital Experience

What began in 2006 with the brothers Stefan and Josef Willkommer, a portion of courage, and an office in Rosenheim in need of renovation has developed into one of the leading IT service providers. The focus is on the upper midmarket in German-speaking countries. Today, TechDivision is much more than a technology partner - we are enablers of digital customer experiences.

We started with the TYPO3 content management system and our first web projects. But it was clear early on that the digital world was changing rapidly. In 2007, we discovered Magento - at the time a new open source commerce platform in its first alpha phase - and were immediately impressed. As a result, we became one of the first official Magento partners in Europe and one of the leading service providers for Magento in German-speaking countries right from the start.

The early focus on e-commerce and Magento proved to be groundbreaking: with projects for customers such as WMF or Ritter Sport, where 100,000 bars of unicorn chocolate were sold over the digital store counter in five minutes based on Magento (which at the time corresponded to the order volume of a pre-Christmas day on Amazon), our team became known both nationally and internationally.

With growth came new challenges - and opportunities. Since moving to the Spinnerei site in Kolbermoor in 2011, TechDivision has continued to grow. The transformation from a technology-driven agency to a strategic digitalization partner gathered pace. Today, we provide holistic support to medium-sized companies in particular: from digital vision and strategy development to technical implementation and marketing.

Following the acquisition of Magento by Adobe in 2018, we became part of the global Adobe ecosystem and were subsequently able to prove and further expand our leading position in the field of e-commerce in the Adobe world. Today, we belong to a small circle of strategic Adobe partners, are in very close regular contact, and work with Adobe on strategic topics.

The pandemic has also put us to the test. However, our consistent cloud strategy, agile team structures, and the courage to share responsibility have not only made us resilient but even stronger. Transparency, trust, and respectful cooperation are the basis of our collaboration today - with around 150 colleagues at several locations in the DACH region.
